OK. When the episode aired, I didn't have much problem with River, really. I didn't love her, but I didn't hate her - I was sort of settled on the disliking side of indifference.

 Well, that was the least scary "scary" episode ever. Funny, intriguing, but not brilliant and definitely not scary.

I'm hoping that it's like most two-parters in that it depends largely on the following episode (which does look about ten times better, from that trailer), or else Moffat has really let himself down.

I sincerely hope anyone who had even the slightest doubt about her is munching their hat and their words and some humble pie right now.
